With great sadness, we mark the recent passing of our dear classmate Jean Becker, who died in June, 2007.

Jeanie Lynn Becker, 46, of La Crosse passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007, at University Hospital in Madison.

She was born Dec. 11, 1960, to Elaine (Gallagher) and Henry Becker in La Crosse, where she grew up alongside sisters Pam and Sue and many loving friends and family. Jeanie graduated from Aquinas High School in 1979 and received her nursing degree from Viterbo College in 1983. Her career and caring personality took her to Rochester, Minn., Seattle and Minneapolis where she served as a nurse in numerous facilities. Most recently, Jeanie was a nurse in the cardiac care unit at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, where she had been on staff since 2002.

Jeanie was an absolute person, nurse, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend. Her joy was bringing happiness to others each and every day through her selfless actions and kind words. She was courageous and determined, and left a lasting impression on all those who knew her. She was as forgiving as she was gifted and as patient as she was honest. There is no one else like her.

She will be forever missed by her parents, Elaine and Henry Becker of La Crosse; sisters, Susan Becker of La Crosse and Pamela (Alan) Severson of Onalaska, Wis.; niece, Jennifer Severson of Onalaska; nephew, Kevin Severson of Madison; and always, Riley. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and a very special family member named Sparky.
